Now In March -For the year 2025, the minimum amount for Fitrana and Fidya has been set at Rs. 240 per person, enabling Muslims to fulfill their charitable duties during Ramadan.
The announcement was made by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, a renowned religious scholar and former chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. He encouraged those who are financially capable to give more according to their means, highlighting the significance of supporting the needy.
The Fidya amount, paid to compensate for missed fasts, varies based on different food items:
- Wheat: Rs. 240
- Barley: Rs. 700
- High-quality dates: Rs. 4,000
- Premium raisins: Rs. 6,400
Additionally, Mufti Muneeb explained that Kaffara, the penalty for intentionally breaking a fast without a valid reason, requires feeding 60 deserving people with two meals each, as per Islamic teachings.
As Ramadan draws near, this announcement reminds Muslims of their religious responsibilities and the importance of helping those in need.
With the blessed month of Ramadan approaching, the Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, announced the official rates for Sadqa-e-Fitr (Fitrana) and Fidya for this year. According to the declaration, the minimum amount for both Fitrana and Fidya per person has been set at Rs220.on dated 20-02-2025

- Wheat: Rs220 per person
- Barley: Rs450 per person
- Dates: Rs1,650 per person
- Raisins: Rs2,500 per person
- Dried Apricots: Rs5,000 per person
Fidya, the compensation for missed fasts, is calculated for 30 days as follows:
- Wheat: Rs6,600
- Barley: Rs13,500
- Dates: Rs49,500
- Raisins: Rs75,000
- Dried Apricots: Rs150,000
Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Chairman of the CII, emphasized that Fitrana is obligatory for every Muslim, regardless of age or financial status, and should be paid before the end of Ramadan. He also urged those who are financially well-off to contribute according to their means, rather than adhering to the minimum amount, to provide greater support to those in need.
Additionally, individuals using government-subsidized flour can pay a reduced Fitrana or Fidya amount of Rs160 per person.
It's important to fulfill these obligations promptly to ensure that underprivileged members of the community can partake in the blessings of Eid-ul-Fitr.
